Seeking New Perspectives via Pole Panoramas

I’m experimenting with a 3 meter-long pole to shift the perspective in my panos a bit up :)

Notes to self:

1. Since I’m using a light (great for traveling) crop factor camera I need to make sure the down shot covers the entire missing bottom part.

2. It’s better to tilt up for the around shots and take a proper down shot (can be done with the pole extended) than to tilt down and having to reach the camera, turn it up and take the up shot. The uptilt is also more convitient because it hides the panohead from the view completely.

3. Two minutes of setting the control points manually can save twenty in photoshop.

4. That level thing I attached to the pole is freaking useful.

Are you a pole panorama expert? Look at these panos - which are my first pole panos ever - and share your hints and tips. Thanks!
