Creating Unreal Panoramas in PTGUI
The photo below is a panorama that would not be possible to capture using traditional photography. It looks normal but it’s not. It covers a filed of view of approximately 220 degrees. It was created using PTGUI following these steps:
1) I took 5 photos using a fisheye 8mm lens
2) The photos were assembled in PTGUI into a 360-degree panorama using techniques you can find linked in the header of this site
3) This produced a 360-degree interactive panorama which you can see on 360Cities
4) I cropped the the final equirectangular image into what you can see in the picture below
Unreal panorama of a waterfall
The following photo was taken at the upper end of the trail around Skogafoss, southern Iceland. Skogafoss a 60m(180feet)-high waterfall, one of the highest in Iceland, and it can be found near the Skogar settlement. The panorama photo was created using steps described above. I like to create these almost nature looking photos that are in fact very unreal and would not be possible to capture using a normal camera.
