This Youtube video is blocked in your country

Can somebody please explain to me what the purpose of this stupid message is? Or maybe I should ask what do the copyright owners THINK the purpose of this restriction is…

    If you want to watch this video in your country try this (for Firefox):

    1. go to https://hidemyass.com/proxy-list/ and copy a Proxy IP address outside your country
    2. in FF Menu go to "Tools"->"Options"->"Advanced"
    3. Choose "Network", click "Settings"
    4. Activate "Manual proxy configuration"
    5. Enter the proxy address from step 1
    6. Restart FF, go back to youtube and watch your vid :)
    (7. proxy servers are sometimes very slow… so I recommend to change settings back after watching)
